Charlie Young, M.D.       Dr. Young's Homepage

Dr. Charlie Young is the founder of the Regional Cardiac Electrophysiology Service of the Northern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program. He graduated from the Stanford University School of Medicine in 1982. He received his postgraduate clinical training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles. His Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship was performed at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, after which he joined The Permanente Medical Group in 1988. Dr. Young is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Cardiac Electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is the author of numerous publications in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Michael R. Lauer, M.D., Ph.D.       Dr. Lauer's Homepage

Dr. Michael R. Lauer graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1985. He also received a PhD degree in cellular cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Wisconsin. He performed his postgraduate clinical training in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Lauer is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Cardiac Electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1993 and he is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Lauer has published numerous articles in the field of cardiac electrophysiology and is the co-author of a recently published textbook of cardiac electrophysiology entitled "Fundamental Approaches to the Management of Cardiac Arrhythmias".

Jennifer Han, M.D.       Dr. Han's Homepage

Dr. Jennifer Han received her undergraduate education at Barnard College/Columbia University. Subsequently, she pursued a Master of Science degree in physiology and biophysics and her MD degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine. After performing postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, she undertook a Cardiology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center also in New York and a Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Han is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. She is the author of numerous research articles and is active in clinical research. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Leonard K. Chen, M.D., Ph.D.       Dr. Chen's Homepage

Dr. Leonard Chen received his medical degree from Taipei Medical College, Taipei, Taiwan in 1983. Dr. Chen completed his INternal Medicince residency at Yale New Haven hospital in 1994. He also completed a fellowship in Cardiology at UC San Francisco in 1996 and a fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Stanford University School of Medicine in 1998. Dr. Chen has been in practice since 1998 in Bakersfield, CA and was an attending electrophysiologist at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey. Dr. Chen joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2004. Dr. Chen is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. As with his colleagues, Dr. Chen is the author of numerous research articles and is also a Clinical Instructor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Kelly R. Richardson, M.D.       Dr. Richardson's Homepage

Dr. Kelly R. Richardson obtained her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville,TN. She then moved to Boston where she completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. She completed her fellowship in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. In addition to an Electrophysiology fellowship, she participated in the Stanford Innovation Biodesign Program as a subspecialty fellow. The goal of the fellowship is to recognize needs within the area of Electrophysiology and develop technological solutions. She joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2005 and is also a Clinical Instructor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Richardson is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Her professional interests involve the detection and treatments of Cardiac Arrhythmias as well as the development of new technologies that can aid in the treatment of patients with cardiac disease.
